Welcome to the BSC Connected Classroom Devices Portal<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Connected Classroom Devices (CCD) Program<\/strong> is designed as a third option to supplement our 1 to 1 Laptop Program. While we strongly encourage our families to take part in our 1 to 1 Program we feel that by providing a third choice for families we can ensure more students have access to a device. The CCD Program is aimed to support digital learning by allowing students to bring and use their own personal devices for educational purposes. This initiative empowers students to connect more deeply with classroom content, collaborate with peers, and develop essential digital skills in a safe, structured environment.<\/p>

BSC provide the following advice around support of such devices as follows:<\/p>

  • Maintaining the device is the responsibility of the family. (Updates, Security etc)<\/li>
  • BSC ICT Technicians are only able to assist with basic accessibility issues. (WiFi, Teams, Printing etc)<\/li>
  • The Scope of IT Support available for such devices is limited.\u00a0<\/li>
  • BSC CANNOT repair these devices, broken screens, or other such hardware issues are the responsibility of the family.\u00a0<\/li>
  • Should the device be infected with Malware or the like, it will be removed from the network, and not reconnected until proof of repair can be provided.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>

    The following specifications should be met, to allow devices to be brought from home.\u00a0<\/p>

    Prerequisite actions and advice:<\/span><\/strong><\/div>
    \u00a0<\/div>

    • If you are bringing a device that was used in Primary School, please ensure any Management Software, Restrictions, Controls or the like are removed BEFORE<\/strong> attempting any setup at Bellarine Secondary College<\/p><\/li>

    • If you are unsure about the above, please contact the IT Support at your Primary School<\/strong> and have them make sure this has been done.\u00a0<\/li>
    • Please be aware, that should you choose to bring a device from Primary School, and it was out of Warranty and Insurance at the end of Year 6, we will NOT be able to have it repaired for you.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>

      • Find your Department of Education (schools.vic.edu.au) student account details sent to new parents via email, or if you are\u00a0<\/span><\/span>an existing student you should have this information.<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul>

        Early Years (Year 7- 9)<\/strong><\/h6>
        Device Types<\/strong><\/h6>

        • Permitted:<\/strong> Windows laptops. (Windows 11 ONLY)<\/p><\/li>

        • Not Permitted:<\/strong> macOS, ChromeOS (Chromebooks), iPads, Android tablets, Linux devices.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

          Minimum Specifications (Baseline for Functionality)<\/h6>

          • Operating System: Windows 11 (Home or Pro editions , NOT S Mode)<\/p><\/li>

          • Processor: Intel Core i3 (or equivalent AMD Ryzen for example. Note: Snapdragon or ARM Processors are NOT supported at this time)<\/p><\/li>

          • RAM: 8 GB<\/p><\/li>

          • Storage: 128 GB SSD (Solid State Drive)<\/p><\/li>

          • Screen Size: Minimum 12 inches, no larger than 14 inches<\/p><\/li>

          • Battery Life: Minimum 6 hours (for full school-day use)<\/p><\/li>

          • Wireless: Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) or newer, and support Enterprise Grade Wifi<\/p><\/li>

          • Be LESS<\/strong><\/span> than 5 years<\/strong><\/span> of age.<\/li><\/ul>
            Later Years (Year 10- 12)<\/strong><\/h6>
            Device Types<\/strong><\/h6>

                Devices that do not meet the minimum specifications<\/strong> outlined in the CCD Program will not be granted access to the school network<\/strong>. Additionally, devices that fall below the required standards<\/strong> during periodic reviews will be removed from the network<\/strong> until they are brought back into compliance or replaced.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

                • Your\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Device\u00a0<\/span><\/span>will be ready to automatically connect with the school wifi on arrival<\/span><\/p><\/li>

                • Printers will be installed and ready for use.\u00a0<\/p><\/li>

                • Key educational apps provided by the school will be installed and ready to use.<\/span><\/p><\/li>
